Our Fleet

Our modern fleet of hybrid electric Mercedes hearses and limousines provides your family with comfort and the latest technology. All of our vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, and our experienced, uniformed drivers offer a professional service. Each limousine accommodates up to seven people, including one person in the front with the driver.

If you would like to consider alternative transport options, such as a horse-drawn hearse or motorcycle hearse, your dedicated funeral director will be happy to discuss your requirements and source suitable options.

Designed with comfort in mind, these rooms allow you to gather with loved ones and discuss with a funeral director in a supportive environment. We ensure that every detail is addressed, making the arrangement process as seamless and respectful as possible.

Viewing Rooms

Our viewing rooms are designed to provide comfort and a private setting, allowing you to spend time with your loved. These rooms allow you to reflect and say your final goodbyes in a peaceful setting.

If you have any specific requests or preferences for the viewing, please let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate them.

These meaningful touches help us honour your loved one’s individuality. We offer a quality robe or can dress your loved one in their own clothes, ensuring a personalised and respectful tribute.

My mum passed away...

My mum passed away last month and I was at a loss as who to choose so I googled, found James Ashton and Son and have not regretted it. At such a distressing time, nothing was too much for Jamie. He was courteous and polite. He guided me through each step and approached everything with complete professionalism. Communication was either through phone or email and Jamie was very prompt in returning my calls. I knew I wanted a humanist service for my mum and Jamie recommended a lovely lady called Fiona. She conducted a beautiful service , everything went smoothly.and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the chapel.

Caring, sympathetic and extremely

Caring, sympathetic and extremely professional from start to end. At a time when we had enough on our plate to deal with, all the staff at Ashtons (special mention to Colin and Zoe) ensured that we didn't have to worry with the most important part following our mum's passing. This loving care continued from Dominick Watson (Civil Ceremonies Dundee) and from all the staff at The Invercarse Hotel, both initially contacted and organised through Ashtons. I would love to say I won't be using any of them again but such is life, I won't hesitate to call them in the future if and when required. Ashton's are first class...

Ashton's are first class funeral directors. Every single person who I dealt with was empathetic, professional, and caring. We first used Ashton's 31 years ago when our Dad passed away. At that time, we used the Cardean Street office. Recently, my Mum died and we used Ashton's in Lochee. Both offices are so, so good. I cannot think of enough superlatives to describe them. Today, I picked up my Mum's ashes from Cardean Street and the Receptionist, Zoe, epitomised professionalism. Absolutely fantastic. I would thoroughly recommend Ashton's to anyone who has sadly lost someone. The world would be a far, far better place if everyone acted in the way Ashton's do. Thanks Ashton's for all of your help.

I am very happy...

I am very happy to pass on my experiences with James Ashton and Sons. Sadly, I have had to avail myself of the assistance of JA and Sons twice in the space of two years. Once for my uncle and recently for my dear mother. On both occasions the service was exemplary. We were very lucky to have funeral director, Jamie Anderson, managing both funerals and they were conducted with sensitivity, discretion, efficiency, respect and compassion. I have recently had to arrange a funeral for my grandad. Though this was difficult, the whole process was faultless and I was made to feel at ease. We chose Ashtons as they had also carried out my grans funeral, 6 years previous which was also perfect. Cannot thank Jamie enough.
